Procurement Management

The Process

The procurement management process involves managing the ordering, receipt, review and approval of items from suppliers. A procurement process also specifies how the supplier relationships will be managed, to ensure a high level of service is received.

It is not enough to assume that contractors will meet their obligations!

Poor subcontractor management can cause budgets and schedules to spiral out of control and derail projects when everything else has been executed flawlessly. Thus it is important for  project managers to aware of the status of subcontractor work and make the appropriate change requests and updates as soon as possible.
